Philadelphia Portal

Unveiled in October 2024, the Philadelphia Portal is located at John F. Kennedy Plaza, also known as Love Park near the city’s historic Independence Hall. This Portal previously debuted in New York City before relocation to Philadelphia for its new home. The Portal connects to identical sculptures located at notable public spaces around the world. Portals offer a real-time, unfiltered livestream 24/7, inviting people to meet above borders and differences.
Philadelphia, the birthplace of American independence, holds a unique place in the nation's history. It was here, in 1776, that the Declaration of Independence was signed, marking the beginning of a new era of freedom. As the first World Heritage City in the United States, Philadelphia continues to be a symbol of innovation and cultural richness, attracting millions of visitors to iconic sites such as Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Beyond its historic significance, Philadelphia thrives as a modern, dynamic city with a diverse community and vibrant arts scene.

“The Portal offers something truly special. What may seem like a simple camera is actually a gateway—a direct connection to cities, people, and cultures across the world. Communities across Dublin, Poland and Lithuania celebrated alongside thousands in Philadelphia who gathered throughout the day in front of the art sculpture. I invite you to check it out and share your big ideas for Philly as we approach 2026.”

Michael Newmuis - 2026 Director for the City of Philadelphia
